Frequently Asked Questions

What is Swampass Safety?

Swampass Safety is an HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) reporting platform built for industrial job sites — chemical plants, steel mills, paper mills, aluminum recycling plants, and the refractory, millwright, and mechanical contractors who work in them.

What can I do with it today?

Five forms are live: an OSHA Form 301-based incident report, an MSHA 7000-1-based accident/injury report, a pre-job safety plan / JSA, a training record (MSHA 5000-23 style), and a daily workplace examination record. Every form supports voice dictation, photo attachments, save-as-draft with review & approve, a "fill in the gaps" helper, and branded PDF export.

Does this work for MSHA-covered sites?

Yes — that's a core focus. Contractors working on mine property (including cement plants, lime plants, and aggregate/sand & gravel operations) fall under MSHA jurisdiction. We include forms structured on MSHA 7000-1 and 5000-23, a daily workplace exam record per 30 CFR 56.18002, and a plain-English MSHA contractor guide. Note: our forms prepare your documentation — official MSHA filings still go through MSHA.

How does voice input work?

Tap the microphone next to any text field and talk — your words are transcribed into the field. It uses your browser's built-in speech recognition (Chrome and Edge on desktop and Android; on iPhone, use the mic key on the keyboard). Then use Review to check the interpreted text before approving the PDF.

Is the incident report OSHA compliant?

The form captures the information required by OSHA Form 301 (Injury and Illness Incident Report), plus root cause and corrective action sections that go beyond the minimum. Always verify final submissions against your company's and site's specific recordkeeping requirements.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Swampass Safety runs in any modern web browser on a phone, tablet, or laptop. Fill out reports right at the job site.

Where does my data go?

During this testing phase, reports are generated directly in your browser and saved as PDF files to your device. Nothing is stored on a server.

Who is behind Swampass Safety?

Industrial trades people who got tired of carbon-copy forms and lost paperwork. We build for the furnace floor, not the corner office.

What does it cost?

We're in early access. See the pricing page for current plans.
